Oh yes summer is here, the warm sun and fun at the festivals begin. This last Saturday and Sunday I attended a couple of festivals, where the music and food was great. On Saturday I was in Oakland, CA for The Laurel Summer Solstice Festival with my business partner. We there surveying the land and checking the musicians and we were pleased. I got a chance to see Ron Mathews-“The One Man Band”.
On Sunday we were checking out the Juneteenth Festival in Berkeley, CA, where a very dear friend brought one of his acts from Japan to play as a stop off on their tour. The band was Sakura , which means Cherry Blossom. Sakura sounded really good and we enj oyed listening very much. Also what I found to be one of the high points on both days was the harmony that layered amongst everyone attending. There was joy in the air that washed a way what many feel are troubled times. Part of that joy for me was the positive feeling I felt in being part of the continual move of the joy of music. Long live sunny days and long continue the harmony of the many and definitely, long live the beautiful vibrations of the sound and story of music.
Enjoy you summer,
